Many of our amazing staff serve SMH in order to make a greater impact on the public. This certainly rings true for Mental Health Tech (MHT) Lead Kebba MB Bojang, who also sees his role as a fulfillment of his American Dream.
Having been with SMH for 11 years, Kebba originally hailed from the West African country of Gambia. Upon earning his degree equivalent in order to immigrate to the United States, Kebba had one major challenge upon arrival: he was legally blind.
Kebba was able to regain his eye sight through a true corneal at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary Hospital in 1997. Due to his experience with a disability, Kebba wanted to work for Sound Mental Health because it offered him the opportunity to impact the lives of others struggling with their own disabilities.
Now a MHT Lead at the Stillwater facility, as well as a naturalized US citizen, Kebba says his favorite part of the job is that his clients always look forward to seeing him at work.
“I am proud to serve as a Mental Health Tech because I make a difference in the lives of the clients we serve,” Kebba says. “It is a company I can rely on at anytime.”
He credits SMH for strengthening communities as well as changing his life around.
“I am able to go home as needed to care for my sick and old aged mother,” Kebba says. “Thank you for giving me that opportunity SMH.”
