The incumbent will receive administrative supervision from the manager of each program to which the incumbent is assigned.  The position will be supervised by the Chief Medical Officer.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients for the purpose of determining a differential, psychiatric diagnosis and biopsychosocial case formulation.
  • Direction and/or participation in the treatment process for all patients under his/her care.
  • Assess patients for psychiatric/psychotropic medication necessity.
  • Prescribe psychotropic medication related to psychiatric concerns.
  • Order all appropriate laboratory tests to assist in determining a differential diagnosis and to monitor the safety of prescribed medications.
  • Consult with other internal and external providers on a shared patient’s treatment and treatment plan.
  • Review for appropriateness and sign or assist in determining alternatives to all internal agency and external documents that require physician signature and pertain to patient treatment and welfare.
  • Attend and participate in medical staff meetings, as required.

Skills:

  • Psychiatrists should be well versed and updated in psychopharmacology
  • An understanding of a broad spectrum of psychotherapeutic models would be advantageous, particularly those associated with short-term, or solution focused approaches.
  • Skill in working with multidisciplinary teams is also desirable.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree.
  • Completion of accredited psychiatrIc residency.
  • Submit and maintain a current Medical Practice License for Washington State and applicable DEA for WA State
  • The ability to be reimbursed for services by Medicare and Medicaid is required.

Provides various administrative and clinical duties in support of the medical staff.  Works directly with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners and physician assistants.  Tasks include taking vitals, handling pharmacy calls, preparing consumers for meetings with medical staff, and offering ongoing support to the medical staff as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide assistance in preparing consumers for consultations with medical staff.
  • Take vitals of consumers.
  • Provide instructions on the use of medications, home care and general health information as directed by medical staff.

  • Demonstrate ability to handle equipment appropriately, cleanly and safely.
  • Be responsible for collection and maintenance of data, providing clear and timely documentation.
  • Provide liaison between main desk and medical staff to ensure timely and orderly flow of consumers.
  • Adhere to consumer processes and procedures based on best practices.
  • Maintain worksite areas, ensuring they are clean and well supplied.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to collaboratively working with medical personnel on meeting clinical goals and measures.
  • Comply with HIPAA/Confidentiality policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • AA/AS in Behavioral Sciences preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in human services or with special needs population required, if educational level is high school or GED. No experience required if educational level is AA or above.
  • Must be able to obtain a WA State Medical Assistant-Registered credential within the first 60 days of hire. Individuals currently possessing a WA State Nursing Assistant-Certified, Nursing Assistant-Registered or Medical Assistant-Certified credential are preferred and will meet the requirement for a WA credential.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.  Must have WA state driver’s license and insurable driving record as well as reliable transportation

We are seeking a Part Time to Full Time ARNP or Psychiatrist to join our team. The ARNP is a professional level position intended to provide psychiatric services in our agency through the prescribing and monitoring of medications, evaluation of psychiatric status, and consultation to non-medical staff. This is primarily a clinical position and incumbents will spend the majority of their time seeing patients, with the same productivity standards and same scheduling guidelines as physicians.  Although knowledge of psychosocial issues in the treatment of all patients is desirable, the emphasis in this position is in the biomedical and medicolegal areas.
