Essential functions:

  • Provide psychiatric services through comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and treatment of clients.
  • Prescribe and monitor appropriate psychotropic medications.
  • Provide consultation to non-medical staff and participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.
  • Coordinate with program managers to facilitate integration of medical issues into overall treatment planning.
  • Screen clients for concurrent non-psychiatric medical conditions and refer for appropriate care.
  • Participate in program development as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Washington medical license and DEA

Experience:

  • Completion of accredited general psychiatry residency or accredited child and adolescent psychiatry.

We are seeking a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist or ARNP to work part time (16 hours/week) with part time benefits (Auburn and Tukwila). The incumbent will receive administrative supervision from the manager of each program to which the incumbent is assigned.  The position will be supervised by the Senior Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and/or the Chief Medical Officer.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients for the purpose of determining a differential, psychiatric diagnosis and biopsychosocial case formulation.
  • Direction and/or participation in the treatment process for all patients under his/her care.
  • Assess patients for psychiatric/psychotropic medication necessity.
  • Prescribe psychotropic medication related to psychiatric concerns.
  • Order all appropriate laboratory tests to assist in determining a differential diagnosis and to monitor the safety of prescribed medications.
  • Consult with other internal and external providers on a shared patient’s treatment and treatment plan.
  • Review for appropriateness and sign or assist in determining alternatives to all internal agency and external documents that require physician signature and pertain to patient treatment and welfare.
  • Attend and participate in medical staff meetings, as required.
  • Maintain all clinical records in accordance with agency policy.
  • Perform all other functions as assigned by the Senior Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and/or Chief Medical Officer.
  • Understand recovery concepts in behavioral health.

Skills:

  • Psychiatrists should be well versed and updated in psychopharmacology
  • An understanding of a broad spectrum of psychotherapeutic models would be advantageous, particularly those associated with short-term, or solution focused approaches.
  • Skill in working with multidisciplinary teams is also desirable.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree.
  • Completion of accredited psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship.
  • Submit and maintain a current Medical Practice License for Washington State and applicable DEA for WA State

We are seeking a Part Time ARNP or Psychiatrist to join our team in our Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) department. The ARNP is a professional level position intended to provide psychiatric services in our agency through the prescribing and monitoring of medications, evaluation of psychiatric status, and consultation to non-medical staff. This is primarily a clinical position and incumbents will spend the majority of their time seeing patients, with the same productivity standards and same scheduling guidelines as physicians.  Although knowledge of psychosocial issues in the treatment of all patients is desirable, the emphasis in this position is in the biomedical and medicolegal areas. This position requires a substantial level of independence and clinical leadership.   The NP will do initial psychiatric evaluations as well as follow up on cases that have been seen by a staff physician.  The position is supervised by the Chief Medical Officer.

  • Order all appropriate laboratory tests to determine a differential diagnosis and assure safe prescription of medications.
  • Assess for medication side effects and treat when appropriate, following guidelines set by accepted professional standards and any other applicable standards of care.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years previous experience prescribing psychotropic medications desired, preferably in community mental health setting
  • Requires a current nursing license in the State of Washington,
  • Current license to prescribe medicine in the State of Washington, and a current license as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in Washington State and applicable DEA for WA State.
  • The ability to be reimbursed for services by Medicare and Medicaid is required.
