Sound Mental Health’s community of supporters rallied to make this year’s GiveBIG event, held on May 10, a success. GiveBIG is an annual fundraising campaign created by Seattle Foundation. More than $10,000 was raised by staff, board members and community members to support the programs of SMH and improve the lives of our community’s most vulnerable people. Several gifts made by donors called out the great work our staff does for the most deserving people in our community. Many others gave in honor/memory of family members and those struggling with behavioral health issues.
In all, GiveBIG benefited SMH and 1,600 other organizations through more than 82,000 donations totaling more than $19,000,000.
“It was inspiring to be a part of a larger community-wide effort led by the Seattle Foundation,” said Sue Bean, Vice President and Chief Development Officer. “The generosity of our donors enables Sound Mental Health to serve its mission and offer real hope and opportunity to all that we serve. Next year promises to be bigger and better!”
